2027 Anna Hernandez / Luna Textiles Award

The Anna Hernandez/Luna Textiles Award celebrates the professional achievements of Anna Hernandez, founder of Luna Textiles, through establishing and presenting an annual prize for women entrepreneurs and industry leaders in the commercial interior design field.

Anna Hernandez was a leader in the textile industry, a creative force, entrepreneur, and champion for the interior design industry, establishing herself and Luna Textiles as award-winning industry leaders. The fund was established in 2016 by Anna's family, Luna Textiles, and in partnership with IIDA to recognize the legacy of Anna Hernandez, and the award serves to honor her spirit and achievements by recognizing women entrepreneurs in commercial interior design.

Submission Requirements:

Written Component

  • Statement describing the purpose and mission of your firm or business (200 words max.)
  • Statement of your involvement with, and contributions to the commercial interior design profession (200 words max.)
  • Statement describing how you would utilize the monetary award to support your business (200 words max.)

Video Component

Please submit a brief 3-5 minute video in which you, in your own words, describe your firm and your approach to success. Please describe the following prompts:

  1. The growth and success of your firm or business since inception
  2. Your experience as an entrepreneur in the design industry
  3. How you approach mentoring aspiring designers and emerging professionals
  4. Where you see your firm or business in 5 to 10 years from now

Letters of Recommendation

Two (2) separate letters of recommendation in PDF file format and saved individually must be included. We suggest that each of these letters represent a different peer or voice from your time in the industry. These could be previous employers, past business associates, current peers, a vendor or company you’ve worked closely with, educators, or mentors.
